Welcome to Thursday! You’ve almost made it to the weekend. HERE is an interview I did with the area country/Americana band Clarence Tilton for The Reader. They celebrate the release of their new album tomorrow at Reverb. If you visit the Omaha Buzz Facebook page, I will also post it on Instagram this morning- you can enter to win tickets to see Ben Folds with the Omaha Symphony next weekend. I also posted the May Live Music Preview yesterday. You can see it HERE

I spent my morning listening to New York trombonist Kaila Vandever’s 2023 album We Fell In Turn, and it is stunning. Highly recommended at 5 a.m., FYI. She is part of the Live at the Low End series at Bemis Center this evening. These shows are free, but you should visit their website to make a reservation—I am planning to do so. From the website: “Her approach to the trombone is distinctive and defined by her sonorous tone and lyrical improvisational voice, allowing patience and melody to guide her process.” She has performed with Joel Ross, Immanuel Wilkins, Harry Styles, Lizzo, Japanese Breakfast, Moses Sumney, Jennifer Hudson, and Demi Lovato.
Salt Lake City indie rock band Backseat Lovers have become so popular that they are now doing double dates. They will be at The Admiral on May 1st and May 2nd. The Friday show has been sold out for a while, and it looks like only a limited number of premium balcony tickets remain for the Thursday show. The band hasn’t released an album since 2022, and this show is their final stop on the tour before they pick it back up overseas in a month.
Ian Munisck has received a lot of acclaim and attention for his White Buffalo, album and documentary. The Wyoming country singer will be performing at The Astro Amphitheater tonight with Ty Meyers. Yes, you read that right — it’s May 1st, and things are starting to move outdoors.
I don’t know what Texas did to them, but Oklahoma indie band Husbands is coming to Reverb Lounge on May 1st as part of their Skippin’ Texas Tour. Their new song, “Nameless One,” was released in January, followed by a cover of The Eagles’ “Desperado.”
Clozee is a French DJ who has been putting out albums for over a decade now. When she teams up with fellow EDM artist LSDREAM they become LSZEE. They will be performing a TWO night event at Steelhouse Omaha with different sets and different artists both nights.
Cinema Stereo from Nashville just released a new EP a couple of weeks ago. They have a classic 80s rock sound that’s somewhat unique for 2025. Check it out—if it’s your thing, it might really be your thing. They’re headlining at The Sydney tonight, performing with Public Figure and Las Cruxes.
Blues guitarist Chris Cain will be at The Zoo Bar tonight and the Waiting Room tomorrow. The guitarist is a multiple time Blues Music Award nominee and currently touring on his Good Intentions Gone Bad album.
