New grass band Arkansauce heads to Slowdown tonight. The band plays bluegrass that they say is inspired by the Ozark Mountains traditions. The band has four vocalists that all do lead vocals and harmonies. They have released five albums over the last decade, with the latest being 2023’s OK to Wonder. Also on the lineup tonight is The Midland Band from right here in our area.
Let’s Sing Taylor is a full band doing Taylor Swift songs and encouraging the audience to sing along and dress as if they are attending an actual Taylor Swift concert. Considering that there are multiple Taylor Swift parties every year and honestly it seems like every month, it is only natural that live music parties would eventually happen. This is in a big room at The Astro, so they really could get quite the experience happening.
The Zoo Bar is, of course, known as one of the most legendary blues clubs anywhere, but they do much more there. On Thursday nights they do original rock bands, and it’s an early evening also. Kind of nice. This lineup is jam-packed with The MudPuddLeS, Midwest Dilemma, Jack Hotel and Sas Liska. I haven’t seen the Jack Hotel name around in a minute. Afterwards, you can stick around for live karaoke with Shithook!
