Massive Pop Star In Council Bluffs, Punk Band Celebrates 25 Years, and Mystery Manor on Vinyl?
Wednesday and Thursday Lineup
Here is the Wednesday and Thursday mix. Combining them as tonight is a little slow for a full post. You can still check out the October Music Preview HERE and plan your weekend HERE with the weekly calendar. I finally got up this week's album list and playlist, and you can check that out HERE.
Thank you to all of the new subscribers! If you find value in Omaha Buzz, you can switch to a paid support subscription. I really appreciate it. If you are not subscribed, you can do so for free. There is no difference between a paid and free subscription, as we want to keep all of this info out there for everyone.

Before we get into Wednesday and Thursday’s shows, I want to point out a new Kickstarter that launched today. Doug Kabourek is a longtime Omaha musician who has made some of the most incredible bedroom pop albums, before I think that was even a term. He goes by the name Fizzle Like A Flood. He is also a huge fan of haunted houses and has even built some himself. He has been inspired by the closing of the Mystery Manor haunted house to create the album "Black Walls and William Hall." Fizzle Like A Flood many years ago was also inspired by the Aksarben race track and made the album Golden Sand and the Grandstand. He has a Kickstarter going to put this out on vinyl, and you can see that HERE. If you have never checked out Fizzle Like A Flood, I highly recommend digging into the back catalog.
Longtime California blues rocker and blues Entertainer of the Year (2008) Tommy Castro & The Painkillers will make a trek to Lincoln to perform at The Zoo Bar this evening. He is a longtime favorite of blues music fans in the area.
Punk band Cancerslug are celebrating 25 years with this current tour. The band is fronted by Alex “Wolfman” Story who is also in the band Doyle with Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein of The Misfits. The bands last album was 2023’ FUCKER, their 18th full length album by my count. They will be at 1867 on Wednesday evening.
I have worked in music retail for well over thirty years and have seen a lot of people skyrocket, but it has been a long time since I have seen one like Chappell Roan. Kind of odd, but super cool that we are getting one of the non-festival one off shows and at Westfair. This is basically sold out for Thursday night of course, but you can find tickets for a price. Just be very careful buying on the secondary market, especially with her cancelling shows just this past week.
From the Live At The Low End site-Arushi Jain is a modular synthesist, singer, producer, radio host, and engineer with an unorthodox vision of a centuries-old tradition—one that’s electronic and resolutely DIY. Her compositions are inspired by Hindustani classical ragas, explored in an aesthetic that is contemporary and current. Her music is a unique reinterpretation of her two contrasting worlds colliding. Arushi will be at Live At The Low End Thursday evening at The Bemis Center. It is a free perforamance.
Chicago hip-hop and drill artist Polo G will be at Pinnacle Bank Areana on Thursday evening. He has number one albums, platinum albums and quite the interesting WIKI page. He just released a new single last week that I will let you look up also. His new album Hood Poet came out in Agust and features Kid LAROI, Lil Durk, Offset, GloRilla and more.
