Guster loves Omaha. They really do. Sometimes they are in town just hanging out. They put out an album with the Omaha Symphony five years ago. They have always been pretty vocal about their love for Omaha. The band put out their first album thirty years ago and are on tour doing a Taylor Swift-esqe “eras” show. Omaha also loves Guster, so don’t sleep on tickets. This show happens Wednesday at The Admiral.
New York rock band King Falcon is at Duffy’s on Tuesday night. The band has that New York sound that has represented in our minds what New York rock sounds like for the past twenty-five years. They bring it up to 2025 with a lot of hooks and vibes that fit the current pop-rock styles. They will be playing with Joy Rager and The Drew Phillips Band.
Virginia Man is from, well, Virginia. Richmond, I think. The band is listed as a folk rock band, and sure, but listening to them, I would put them in more of a singer-songwriter indie rock band. Like, they could easily open for Real Estate at The Waiting Room the next night. They just released their album Murder Folk on January 10th, and now they have to slog through the cold Midwest to promote it. They will be at Reverb Lounge on Wednesday with Social Animals, Jeremy Mercy, and Orphan Georgie.
Josh Hoyer and Soul Colossal were victorious at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis this month, and they are holding a victory party at their home base, The Zoo Bar on Wednesday. This will be one hell of a party.
