Bluegrass band String Cheese Incident is one of the biggest jam bands on the planet and they are coming to Steelhouse Omaha. The band will be outside most of the summer, but you can catch a show under the beams tonight.
24 year old rapper and producer MIKE is one of the most interesting artists out there currently He released the excellent Showbiz! album earlier this year and already has a new one coming out Pinball II with Tony Seltzer. His show at Reverb on tonight is a must see.
Two of the biggest names in blues are on tour together. Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and Samantha Fish will be at The Astro tonight. Kingfish was in town last night and stopped by North Omaha Music and Arts to jam a bit. Samantha is out in support of her latest album Paper Doll.
Soulful rocking blues artists Nikki Hill likes to make swings through Nebraska. This time she is bringing her husband, blues guitarist Matt Hill along and they will perform as Heartbreak Hill trio tonight at The Zoo Bar.
Minneapolis born but living in L.A. musician Javier Santiago will be at North Omaha Music and Arts this evening. The pianist mixes hip-hop and electronic with jazz on his 2024 album Warrior Energy. He has performed with Herbie Hancock, Terrace Martin, Kassa Overall, and many more. Santiago is an alumnus of the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz Performance at UCLA and The Brubeck Institute Fellowship Program. He was a finalist in the American Jazz Pianist competition in 2015, a recipient of the 2016 McKnight Fellowship for Musicians, and was selected to participate in the 14th Annual Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program in 2011.
Tonight is Violin/Tier at O’Leavers. This is noise rock band Violenteer doing an instrumental set with guest vocalists. The band is getting ready to do a tour and head to their performance at the Caterwaul festival in Minneapolis. Also on the lineup is Silversphere and Titus Groaners, which is Nate Wolf’s new band.
