Wow! As I’m posting this, I’m on a plane to California to see this band play this weekend.
New wave band Nation of Language put out my favorite album of 2023, and I’m absolutely obsessed. There’s no one else right now making this style of music this genuine and current as Nation of Language is.
Of course I never thought they would come to Omaha—but I love being wrong about things like this.
Tickets for this must attend show are on sale Friday HERE
There are some bands we always complain about never coming to Omaha, and legendary punk band The Damned has definitely been high on that list.
Finally! The Damned is returning to Omaha for a show at Slowdown on September 17th.
This is going to be one for the books—don’t sleep on tickets. Grab them HERE on Friday
It’s been a long time since ska-funk legends Fishbone have been to Omaha. I’ve got some great Fishbone stories, but that’s for another space.
They’ve always been one of my all-time favorite bands, and while this is a re-tooled version of the group, if you check out their latest song with George Clinton, you’ll see they can still bring it.
Their new album drops in June, and I’m actually in direct contact with the band to get copies of an exclusive version—so hit me up!
Also, grab your tickets HERE on Friday for their July 1st show at Waiting Room.
Wow, this is cool. Ozomatli blends salsa, jazz, funk, reggae, and hip-hop into their sound and has been doing it for 30 years. I saw them about three decades ago at The Ranch Bowl when they were just getting started.
Over the years, they’ve collaborated with artists like B-Real, J.J. Fad, Jurassic 5, Lisa Lisa, G-Love, Dave Stewart, and more.
This is going to be a blast—get your tickets HERE on Friday!
This is awesome—I’m really excited for Chicago’s French Police to come to Reverb on October 4th! The Mexican-American dark-wave band played last year’s Cruel World festival in Pasadena and has been making waves in the scene for several years now. Singing in both English and Spanish, they have a fantastic sound.

Huge country show coming to The Astro! Turnpike Troubadours are back, and they’re bringing Wyatt Flores with them—he’s been selling out rooms everywhere on his own.
Opening the night is the incredible Ken Pomeroy, who I think is the real star of the show.

Walker Montgomery, the son of country star John Michael Montgomery and nephew of Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry, is carrying on the family legacy. That was a lot of Montgomery’s to type out. His music embraces that signature ‘90s country sound, with tunes like “Almost, So Close, So Long, Goodbye,” “Never Had You Anyway,” and “Leave Your Leaving Behind.”
Catch him live at Country Fest at The Matt on June 20th, alongside KC Johns and Kimberly Meyer. Tickets go on sale Friday at that QR code.
Lyrics Born was one half of the indie hip-hop duo Latryx, and if you haven’t heard their 1997 album, The Album, you should add it to your streaming queue immediately. He’s also built a successful solo career and will be bringing his latest album, Goodbye, Sticky Rice, to Falconwood Park on June 14th. Get tickets HERE on Friday
Oh! I just put on Dana Hays’ music and… welp. Clearly, she’s a comedian-singer, as her songs include “Dick for a Day,” followed by “Broken Condoms” and “Dick in My Nightstand.”
You get the idea.
Tickets for her November 8th show at The Admiral are on sale HERE!
Kyle Thomas and Exhorder have been doing it it up for 40 years now. I’m listening to their latest album, Defectum Omnium, and it’s still heavy AF. Honestly, they should bring their full 1990 album, Slaughter in the Vatican, out for a tour—it feels like the perfect time for it. Tickets for their show at 1867 are on sale HERE
Country singer Randall King is making his return to Nebraska—this time at Slowdown. The deep-voiced, old-soul Texas songwriter will be in town on October 2nd.

The holiday show announcements continue—this time featuring the popular a cappella group Straight No Chaser at The Orpheum on November 14th. They're calling it the "Holiday Road" tour, so maybe they won’t go all in on the Christmas tunes just yet. Find out for yourself and get tickets HERE on Friday.
Alex "Wolfman" Story returns to Omaha with his punk band, Cancerslug. Story is also known for his work in Doyle alongside Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, formerly of the Misfits. You can catch Cancerslug at The Sydney on August 7th. Tickets are on sale HERE.

Some people call him Maurice, but we’ll stick with Steve Miller as he brings all the hits to Pinewood Bowl.
Sure, Eminem and Lady Gaga may have recently put out songs called “Abracadabra,” but you’d be a Joker if you didn’t recognize that Steve Miller is the original magic man.
So Fly Like an Eagle and grab your tickets for the September 17th Pinewood Bowl Theater show HERE on Friday!

Old-school black metal band Profanatica is back on tour, and they recently dropped a new EP, Wreathed in Dead Angels, just a few weeks ago. It’s currently rattling my speakers—and yes, this show will also be heavy AF.
