Saturday and Sunday Live Music Lineup
Welcome to the weekend!
HERE are the shows that went on sale yesterday.
You can find the curated album playlist from last week HERE I have started digging into this weeks albums and we will have this weeks post up on Sunday morning-this next week is a good one.
I also posted the May Live Music Preview. You can see it HERE

Make a note that the Beth Hart show at The Astro this evening has been cancelled. They are doing automatic refunds if you bought through the legit ticket site.
Kansas City noise rockers Season to Risk return to Omaha for a show at The Sydney with Pagan Athletes and Las Cruxes on May 3rd. The band released two album on major label Columbia records in the 90’s when every alternative band was getting signed after grunge hit. They are promoting their latest album 1-800-Meltdown, which was a Record Store Day title this year. Steve Tulipana is also in Omaha based band Violenteer. I have an interview with that band, including Steve coming up here in a week of so.
There’s no doubt about it—it’s time to wink and do the shake at Bushwackers Saturday night with 90’s country star Neal McCoy. Put on those beer goggles, because he might just play your song.
Did you make the list? If you're not a wrestling fan, that might not make any sense to you. Professional wrestler Chris Jericho is returning to Nebraska with his band Fozzy for a hard rock show at The Royal Grove. This is the band's 25th Anniversary Tour.
Progressive metalcore band Between The Buried And Me will play their 2015 album Coma Ecliptic and their 2005 album Alaska on Saturday at The Waiting Room. They will be joined by Protest The Hero.
The harmonious Talbott Brothers return home to Nebraska to perform at the Bourbon Theatre on Saturday. The Americana duo has a new album, Borderlands, set to be released on May 16th. You can listen to four songs from the album on streaming platforms now, before heading to the show.
Hardcore punk band Terror returns to Omaha to play at The Waiting Room on Sunday. I’ve always avoided people wearing Terror shirts—they always seemed like they might mess you up if you looked at them the wrong way. Even though this band has been around for over twenty years, I have to assume those mosh pits are still pretty insane.
Kind of odd, the Admiral just did two nights with Utah band Backseat Lovers and on Sunday night they have Utah rock group Citizen Solider. Citizen Soldier has been pumping out the albums the past five years. They have seven of them on the books since 2019. The hard rock band will bring songs from those albums along with 10 Years and Thousand Below to South Omaha.
The Aristocrats — Guthrie Govan, Bryan Beller, and Marco Minnemann — are all well-known musicians (by other musicians) who have played with artists like Steven Wilson, Hans Zimmer, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Steve Hackett. They’re out in support of their album Duck. They will be joined on stage by Omaha guitar legend Michael Lee Firkins, which should be a draw in itself as that doesn’t happen often. They’ll be performing at Slowdown on Sunday.
Other happenings this weekend include jazz from the Mitch Towne Trio at The Jewell on Capitol on Saturday. He’s promoting his new album, Refuge. Junkstock is also happening, featuring numerous bands, but if you’re a fan of rockabilly and classic Americana rock & roll, be sure to catch a rare appearance by The Mercury’s on Saturday.
Buck’s Bar and Grill has Dylan Bloom on Saturday and Tyler Anthony on Sunday for their day party. If you’re looking to dance, check out Colette at Barnato on Saturday, or the One Direction Dance Party—“Best Song Ever”—at Steelhouse Omaha that same evening. You can also get your 80’s New Wave fix with The Noir organization at The Verdict on Saturday night, or dance to 2000’s hits at Slowdown with the Hot In Herre 2000 Dance Party.
On Sunday, celebrate Dan McCarthy’s birthday at Pageturners with his band McCarthy Trenching. Punk fans should check out Escape From The Zoo at Reverb Lounge on Sunday evening.
