Is Valentines Day eve a thing? If it is, you may want to spend with with Kansas City R&B singer Levelle at The Holland Performing Arts Center. Levelle will do songs from his 2024 release, Love Story, and more. Levelle will also be on the upcoming Keith Sweat show.
Tonight blues pianist and vocalist Eden Brent will perform at the B. Bar for The Blues Society of Omaha’s Valentines Celebration. Brent studied under late jazz pianist Abie “Boogalo” Ames, and they were both the subject of a PBS documentary called Boogaloo & Eden: Sustaining The Sound. Eden was the winner of the International Blues Challenge in 2006 and has won multiple blues music awards, including one for her song “Valentine,” which I would put bets on hearing this evening.
Legendary leather-clad electronic act Plack Blague will be at The Zoo Bar from 10AM to Noon this morning. That is not a typo. They will be performing for the Slacker Morning Show on KZUM 89.3 in Lincoln. Take an extra snow day and head over there. Plack Blague in the morning would be surreal to say the least.
Elvis IS everywhere if you are in Lincoln this week. The Nebraska Elvis Festival is happening at Graduate in Lincoln and will feature ETA’s (that is, Elvis Tribute Acts for you newbies) from around the world. They will also be a part of Ultimate Elvis, which is Graceland’s search for the best ETA in the world. This happens for the next four days, so get your hunka hunka burning love down there.
It is the 20th anniversary of the Lincoln Exposed festival and tonight is night 2! See over 100 bands and artists from the Lincoln area over four days at five venues, including 1867, Bourbon Theater, Bodega’s Alley, Duffy’s Tavern, and The Zoo Bar. I have gone over the years to this event, including a night last year, and it’s a blast and super easy to move around between bars and see as much as you can.
It is night two of popular country singer-songwriter Ward Davis five night residency at Bucks Bar and Grill in Venice, Nebraska. These are sold out, but here is a little pro-tip. Join Buck’s Live Music Facebook group and see if anyone’s plans have changed. I have see plenty of tickets get exchanged there at face value.
