The Slang Dogs project aims to create an immersive audio-visual experience for the bass music culture, representing themes of occultism, witchcraft, horror, and fantasy across their soundscapes and visuals. In the early 90's, I think I sold as many Boney James CD’s at the record store as I did Nirvana and Pearl Jam. People loved some of Boney James smooth jazz. The thing is, they still do. His 2020 album debuted in the Billboard Top Ten Album Charts. This year Boney became the first ever artist to score 20 number one singles on the Billboard Smooth Jazz chart. His new album Slow Burn continues his string of successful releases. James will bring his sax to the Holland Center on November 21st. This is not advertised as a Christmas show, but I bet he pulls out a couple tunes, at least from his Boney’s Funky Christmas album. Tickets on sale Thursday July 10th HERE
