Canadian indie rock star Mac Demarco will have a new album out on August 22nd, called Guitar, but you will have to wait until next May to hear the songs live when he comes to The Astro on May 5th. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday HERE
I am excited for this show. Sir Chloe will follow up her excellent Party Favors album from 2020 and I Am The Dog from 2023 with the album Swallow the Knife on October 26th. She will bring that show to Slowdown on October 26th. Tickets are on sale Friday HERE.
Pop superstars Maroon 5 return with a new album and a new show coming to Pinnacle Bank Arena on October 28th. The band features a Lincoln, Nebraska native, guitarist James Valentine. The band's new album Love Is Like comes out on August 15th, and you can get tickets to the show HERE on Friday.
The first of a few California garage rock type bands coming to town and on this list today are The Frights. The band will be on the main stage at Slowdown on November 11th. They just released a new EP called Five Fucking Singles. They will be with Remo Drive. Tickets are on sale Friday HERE.
The 'Walking In Memphis' singer, Marc Cohn, and the 'Sunny Comes Home' singer, Shawn Colvin, team up for a night of songs at Holland Performing Arts Center. Tickets for the October 15th show go on sale Friday HERE.
It is the return of shock rockers GWAR to Bourbon Theater on November 6th. This time they are bringing along some big-name friends with them in Helmet and Dwarves. Tickets for the messy experience will be on sale Friday HERE.
Soul singer Allen Stone will head out with funk band Ripe for a double bill that should keep people dancing. The Omaha show will be at The Admiral on October 24th and tickets go on sale Friday HERE.
Australian DJ and “Freaks” performer Timmy Trumpet will be at Royal Grove on October 24th for the venues Halloween party. Tickets are on sale HERE on Friday.
Mind’s Eye and Hotflash Heatwave are two Bay Area bands blend elements of SoCal indie, garage, surf, and alt rock and they will be at Slowdown on September 25th. Tickets are available HERE on Friday.
Willow Avalon is the daughter of Americana great Jim White. She is carving out a career of her own with her debut album Southern Belle Raising Hell that came out in January. She currently has a song called “The Actor” out with Charles Wesley Godwin. She will be at Waiting Room on November 4th, and you can get tickets HERE
Japanese experimental psych rock band Acid Mothers Temple return to Omaha for a show at Reverb Lounge. The band will be joined by The Macks, Wyrmwood and Doom Lagoon. Tickets are on sale HERE for the October 14th show.
I am not really sure how to categorize Sleeping With Sirens, they are a lot of things pop-punk, metalcore, emo-etc. They have a very loyal fanbase and will be heading to The Astro on October 14th with the popular Stand Atlantic. Tickets for the show will go onsale HERE on Friday.
Jeremy McComb’s tribute to 90’s country, Honky Tonk Circus, will return to Nebraska for two shows—one at Bourbon Theater on October 18th and one at Waiting Room Lounge on October 17th. Tickets to the extravaganza are on sale now HERE for Bourbon and HERE for Waiting Room.

Hip-hop artist Oddisee will return to The Waiting Room on October 2nd to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of his album The Good Fight. I have seen Oddisee many times, and he has always been on point live. Looking forward to this one. Tickets on sale HERE
The Slang Dogs project aims to create an immersive audio-visual experience for the bass music culture, representing themes of occultism, witchcraft, horror, and fantasy across their soundscapes and visuals. The EDM project will join up with Blurrd Vzn for a show on November 7th at Reverb Lounge. They both just released a joint EP called Depth Bloom. Tickets on sale HERE.
Hard rock band 10 Years is celebrating their 20th anniversary of the band’s Autumn Effect album by playing it in its entirety on September 24th at Bourbon Theater. Tickets are on sale HERE.
There are a few bands called Willis, but the one coming to Slowdown on November 19th are the ones that recently went viral on TikTok with the song “I Think I Like When It Rains”. Tickets are on sale HERE on Friday.
In the early 90's, I think I sold as many Boney James CD’s at the record store as I did Nirvana and Pearl Jam. People loved some of Boney James smooth jazz. The thing is, they still do. His 2020 album debuted in the Billboard Top Ten Album Charts. This year Boney became the first ever artist to score 20 number one singles on the Billboard Smooth Jazz chart. His new album Slow Burn continues his string of successful releases. James will bring his sax to the Holland Center on November 21st. This is not advertised as a Christmas show, but I bet he pulls out a couple tunes, at least from his Boney’s Funky Christmas album. Tickets on sale Thursday July 10th HERE
Indie pop artists Jordy Searcy will be putting his fifth album out in late July. After that he will hit the road on a tour that will bring him to Reverb Lounge on September 7th You can get tickets HERE.
