Simon Joyner does a rare big show at Waiting Room on September 18th with his band The Nervous Stars. Also on the lineup is Leah Senior a 19070’s sounding singer-songwriter from Australia. If you go deep into King Gizzard, you may recognize Leah as narrating the song 'Dawn of Eternal Night'.
This is cool. Hip-hop artist and author Blueprint will be at Bourbon Theater on Thursday. He will also be at The Sydney in Omaha on Friday. Blueprint has a vast catalog of underground hip-hop albums, both solo and with RJD2 as Soul Position.
A while back, there was a band at Reverb Lounge called Ace Monroe that I thought was the perfect young revival of hair metal. The Band Feel from St. Louis, I “feel,” is the perfect young revival of classic rock. If you like Led Zeppelin, BTO, and maybe even some Ram Jam, you will like the soulful, classic sounds of The Band Feel. They will be at Reverb Lounge on Thursday night.
Country artist Hailey Whitters just put out her new album Corn Queen earlier this year. I like it a lot. This is her fourth album, and it follows her writing songs for Little Big Town and Alan Jackson and touring with Maren Morris, Luke Combs and Jon Pardi. The Shueyville, Iowa native will be at Slowdown on Thursday.
Ava Mendoza is a Brooklyn-based guitarist, singer, songwriter and composer. Best known for her solo guitar and vocal performances, and as the leader of the experimental rock band Unnatural Ways, she has received critical acclaim for her guitar work's compelling combination of technical virtuosity and visceral impact. In any context she is committed to bringing expressivity, energy and a wide sonic range to the music. She will be doing a FREE performance at Live at Low End at Bemis Center tonight.
