Rapper and singer honestav is racking up streams for songs like “I’d Rather Overdose” and “Stuck on the Floor.” The Missouri artist came from a tragic upbringing and has connected with people who have had similar struggles. He went viral through comedic videos on TikTok that evolved into music.
You can hear these and more when the viral star hits the stage at Waiting Room tonight—if you can secure tickets. This one is SOLD OUT and has been for a while. Be very careful if buying on the secondary market.
UK singer-songwriter James Arthur has had multiple UK Top Ten hits, including two number ones: “Impossible” and “Say You Won’t Let Go.” Two of his six albums have also hit number one in Britain. The X Factor winner is out on tour in support of his album Pisces, which came out in April. This show will now be indoors at The Astro this evening.
It is 311 Night at Werner Park tonight, where soccer team Union Omaha will play, and minority owner of the team—311 frontman Nick Hexum—will perform a mini-set. He released a new EP of solo material in April called Full Memories. The EP features a cover of Chappell Roan’s song “California.” It will be interesting to see what he chooses to perform this evening.
It’s College World Series time, and Slowdown will kick off its outdoor beer garden directly across the street from the stadium with rising country star Cooper Alan. He is from North Carolina, and there is a South Carolina team in the series—close enough, right? Alan has racked up hundreds of thousands of streams with songs like “Colt 45,” “To the Bar,” and “First Rodeo.”
Texas country singer Richie Allbright (not Waylon Jennings drummer, who is no longer with us) will be at Buck’s Bar and Grill tonight. He has a pretty traditional outlaw country sound, though, and who knows, he might pull out a Waylon song anyway.
Dead Posey is a hard rock band with a goth image and lyrics that lean toward the dark side of music. It features Tony Fagenson, who was the drummer for Eve 6 in that band's heyday. Along with singer Danyell Souza, they have been putting out tunes for a little under a decade but just released their debut album, Are You In a Cult?, last year. They will be at Royal Grove in Lincoln tonight.
Omaha will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the College World Series with a FREE show at The Riverfront (Gene Leahy Mall) featuring three cover bands that pack them in wherever they play. Very fun party band—and multiple Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards winners—Secret Weapon kicks things off. Country band Rustic Rebels will follow, and touring cover band The Pork Tornadoes will headline before fireworks go off.
