HERE is this weeks full calendar
Pop singer Andy Grammer had a top ten hit in 2014 with the song “Honey, I’m Good.” Walk Off The Earth is a Canadian indie pop band with some Americana touches. They made their name doing YouTube covers and making fun videos. They had success with original music with two albums in 2014 and 2015 that both went top twenty. The two artists will be at Stir Cove on Friday.
Tucker Wetmore is relatively new to the country music world, but he has made a big impact in that short time. He released his debut album in 2025 and it went Top 20 and went Gold. He also just released his Sunburn Mixtape a couple weeks back. He will be at The Astro Amphitheater on Friday.
Meena Cryle and the Chris Fillmore Band have been nominated for the Austrian Amadeus Music Award and performed at the Vienna State Opera. From my scattered listening to their catalog today, they seem to take the slow‑burn approach to the blues, which I personally find to be the most interesting blues music. They also put out this really cool French jazz‑sounding tune last year called “Freedom.” They will be at night two of the FREE Playing With Fire festival at Slowdown on Friday night. I tried every which way to tie my beloved Falco into this with them being from Austria, but failed. Or did I?
Colin Linden from Canada will join the Slowdown lineup and has a blues sound, sure, but he has a lot more going on also. He seems like one of the harder acts to categorize on this year’s festival. He has worked with artists as diverse as Bruce Cockburn, some Bob Dylan guy, Emmylou Harris, T‑Bone Burnett, Lucinda Williams and more. Even more impressive for me than being in Bob Dylan’s band for a minute is that he was main musician, music producer, music director and songwriter for the TV show Nashville! I watched every episode and am still mad it ended like it did.
Rounding out the lineup is Canadian Steve Marriner, who I think has won every blues award possible in Canada, including a Juno (Canada’s Grammy) for Blues Album of the Year.
NOMA Fest continues on Friday with their second ticketed show of the week. This is from the bio of Frank McComb.
Frank McComb is a Grammy-caliber vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and visual storyteller whose career spans more than 25 years of timeless, soul-driven music. Renowned for his authenticity and artistry, Frank McComb has built a global reputation as one of the most respected independent voices in contemporary soul.
He first garnered widespread recognition with his independently produced third album, Straight From The Vault—the first project he fully wrote, produced, and recorded himself—earning the inaugural Reader’s Choice Award for Best Album of the Year from SoulTracks. The album’s opening track, “White Line in the Sky”, continues to resonate with new audiences and was featured in the 2024 Peacock film If You Were The Last
Other happenings on Friday include Rudy Love & The Encore with Das Dat at Duffy’s Tavern which is always a fun show. Plack Blague take their rightful spot on the stage at Coven Goth Bar on Friday. Mitch Towne will be at Red Lion Lounge for a free performance and The Talbott Brothers will do a show at Barnato.
