Pile, Minnesota Songwriter and Soundcloud Rapper Plus Postponed Show
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Live Music Lineup
Happy Tuesday! So I am going to run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week together right here. There is honestly not a whole lot happening beyond the weekly gigs. Tomorrow I will put up the February Live Music Preview, and Thursday will be the ticket on sale list, which is shaping up to be another big one. So, there will be plenty of content. To receive all of this and not rely on the algorithms of social media, you can subscribe here. It is free to do, but if you would like to contribute, there is a paid option also. Thank you!
I always think Pile has been around a lot longer than they have. They have only been releasing music that was widely accessible to people to consume for a little over a decade, though they are heading toward their second decade as a band. They just remind me so much of angular indie rock bands we listened to in the early 90s. The band is about to head out on tour with Cursive in a couple of days, so what better way to start that off than by playing in Cursive’s hometown? The band last released their album All Fiction in 2023, which was widely acclaimed. They will be at Slowdown this Tuesday evening with Cope Acidic and PROBLEMS.
Michigan rapper Rio da Yung OG was scheduled for Wednesday at Bourbon Theater, but now it looks like that is happening on July 25th.
Minnesota singer-songwriter Clayton Ryan is finishing up a month-long tour at Duffy’s in Lincoln on Wednesday night. He is touring on his 2024 album Ghost Town. He has a soulful sound mixed with a variety of Americana styles and a little twang. I could see this artist really getting some traction. He will be playing with country/Americana artist Ryan LittleEagle, whose sound has a lot of indigenous music elements in it. He has a new song that just came out called “My Way Home,” and his last album was 2023’s Native Americana.
Soundcloud rapper Lil Xan finally released his second album late last year after a six year gap between that and his debut. He is out on tour and will hit hit The Royal Grove on Thursday. He is known for his gold and platinum singles “Slingshot”, “Betrayed” and “Colorblind”.
