New Song From Vempire, Evan Bartels Two Night Nebraska Run and Tuesday and Wednesday Lineup

Lincoln duo Vempire have released a new song entitled "Eclipse." Vempire is Mike Elfers, whom many of us know from JV Allstars and, more recently, Thirst Things First, and Lindsey Yoneda. This is the second single, as far as I can tell, with the first one being "Sunglasses,” released last year. They informed me that another new song would be arriving on Valentine's Day. What do the songs sound like? They are catchy synth pop numbers, and one is tempted to put the popular “darkwave” tag on them, but these first two songs are too bright and upbeat for that.

Both of the songs are very good, and this is a style of music that I spend a lot of time personally listening to, and these tracks sit nicely alongside the others in these synth genres that I enjoy. I am excited to have another project like this in the area, and one with a bit more of a pop edge than others. If you like Chvrches, Nation Of Language, or even old synth groups like The Human League, you will enjoy these tracks. Evan Bartels

I am going to run both Tuesday and Wednesday together again this week, as it’s most of the normal happenings. One show of note is Evan Bartels starting a two-night Nebraska run at the Zoo Bar tomorrow night and Buck’s Bar and Grill the following night. Bartels is a country singer-songwriter originally from Tobias, Nebraska, and resides in Nashville. Evan tours the world and will be heading to the UK in March.
