Saturday and Sunday Live Music Lineup for Omaha, Lincoln, Council Bluffs and Everywhere Inbetween
If you do not want to subscribe, but want to support my Venmo is @marcus-manner thank you!
Saturday night at Reverb Lounge, two bands with deep Omaha roots are playing together. Neither The Content nor Mad Mad Heart have a lot of gigs under their belts, but you will find a lot of representation from some of your favorite bands from over the years. The Content is Braden Rapp, Ben Stratton, Dave Backhaus, Luke Backhaus, and Wes Graffius. Mad Mad Heart is James Watson, Bruce Coddington, Garrett Pierson, and Kenny Harris IV. Both bands are doing different things than you may be used to from their past projects and bringing a fresh energy on stage with them. Also on the lineup is Gerald Lee Jr. and you won’t find much deeper roots musically in our town than him. In disclosure, I helped put this show together.
Saturday night is your first chance to see Josh Hoyer since he and his band Soul Colossal won best band last week at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. You can stop by Bar 48 in Lincoln and congratulate him and hear some of the tunes that brought a win home for Nebraska.
You are going to want to be in your pajamas from Sunday on through Tuesday, so why not start to get all snuggly on Saturday night with some feeties and metal! Put on your finest bedtime clothing and head to Waiting Room Lounge for The Tale Untold, Stories Through The Storms, Neo Sol and Escaping The Eclipse.
Gray’s Keg in Lincoln will host the metalcore goth band Vampires Everywhere! on Saturday evening. The band fronted by Michael Vampire is on their Colder Than Hell tour, and it looks like we can expect a new album from them in 2024. Also on the lineup is Priest, a dark electronic band that features former members of Ghost.
There is a lot more happening Saturday, including Pretend Friend at Brokedown Palace, reggae with 23rd Vibration at The Zoo Bar, and a second night of the music of Tina Turner and the Omaha Symphony at the Holland Center. Marcelles Walker Trio is one of your jazz options for Saturday night, and Ed Archibald Trio at The Jewell on Capitol is your other.Wayne Infamous & The Dangerous Moment, Ben Esinberger, plus Ronette Lee are at Down Under Lounge, and you can get your darkwave dancing on at Noir at The Verdict. Much, much more below, including Sunday’s lineup.
