If you want to see the shows that went onsale Friday -you can do that HERE
Myself and Dave Leibowitz put up the fourth episode of our Against The 90’s podcast HERE this past Friday. We discuss some 90’s soundtracks that we feel were much better than the movies. We also do an audio review of a live show we saw from Mark Robinson of Unrest/Air Miami here in Omaha. You can also check it out on Spotify, Apple Podcast, Amazon, etc.
June 4th-Chris Cain-North Omaha Music and Arts-Blues guitarist Chris Cain will be back in the area this month including June 4th at North Omaha Music and Arts. Get intimate with the multiple‑time Blues Music Award nominee also has a new song with Joe Bonamassa on the recently released B.B. King’s Blues Summit 100 album. He will be at The Zoo Bar on June 3rd.
June 4th-Little Big Town-Stir Cove-Country chart toppers Little Big Town are back and playing at Stir Cove on June 4th. The band hasn’t put out any new albums, besides a Christmas album, since 2022, so you can expect the hits such as “Girl Crush”, “Better Man” and “Boondocks”. They did just announced recently a new album for August 28th called It’s A Dying Art.
June 6th-Global Sounds at Upland Park-FREE-The fourth annual Global Sounds Festival will feature The Sergio Mendes Band who will continue his legacy by performing his music and celebrating his life. 60 Years of Brasil '66. Sergio Mendes passed in 2024. Also performing will be Ozone Creations, Omaha Street Percussion, Hector Anchondo Band and McCarthy Trenching.
June 6th-Nebraska City Bluegrass Festival-The third annual Nebraska City Bluegrass Festival will feature Grammy Award Winners Rob Ickes and Try Hensley, Lloyd McCarter with Honky Tonk Revival, The Saltcreek Ramblers, Blue Raven Bluegrass Revue and more. This will all go down at Nebraska City Veterans Memorial Building.
June 7th-Los Mirlos-Slowdown-I am very excited for this! Los Mirlos is a cumbia band from Peru who have been putting out albums since the 1970’s. I really enjoy their music and am thrilled they are coming to Omaha for a show at Slowdown on June 7th-coming up quick! The band have a new album coming out tomorrow which includes a version of 311’s “Amber” with the band
June 11th-Belles-Reverb Lounge-Belles will return to her hometown of Omaha on June 11th at Reverb Lounge. There has been a lot of news in Belles world, mainly that she currently has a duet out with the one and only Dolly Parton called “Son of Jolene” and that is getting her a lot of attention around the world. Things are really picking up for our hometown country artist.
June 11th-Celia Hollander-Live at the Low End at Bemis Center-From the webstie-Celia Hollander is a Los Angeles-based composer, producer and performer. Combining acoustic and digital elements, her work focuses on themes such as shaping time through composition, surrendering to improvisation, and music as a natural phenomenon of dynamic systems.
June 12th-Wraith-The Sydney-Prosthetic Records artist Wraith will be at The Sydney on June 12th. The band last released Fueled By Fear in 2024. The band play black metal, speed metal with a punk edge and will be joined by Witchtrap and many more at this show.
June 12th-Joe Jackson -The Admiral-SOLD OUT-This one caught me off guard in a good way. Legendary singer-songwriter Joe Jackson is coming to Omaha on June 12th at The Admiral. Never thought I would type that. Joe is a top ten artist for me, and possibly the artist I listen to most. When I cannot decide on something to put on, I put on Joe. He had a new album out in April, called Hope + Fury, and even at this stage in his career, he can put out some killer albums. His 2019 album Fool is one of my favorites by him. I have traveled to see him twice, and he puts on one hell of a performance. This show is SOLD OUT. Be careful buying tickets on the secondary market.
June 16th-Amyl and the Sniffers-Astro Theater-Here is a show that many of us didn’t expect to happen again anytime soon, but here we are. Gritty pub rock band Amyl and the Sniffers return to Omaha for a show at Astro Theater on June 16th. In 2023 the band was scheduled to perform at The Admiral, but the show ended up moving to The Waiting Room. This was very fortunate for those of us that attended, as we got probably the most intimate Amyl show of that tour, or that has happened since. The band just burned the room down and then just kept getting bigger and bigger. Thankfully we are on the route to Red Rocks, and our promoters in town are giving us a second chance. Do not hose this up! Get tickets to this show. You want to see this band. Trust me. They just wrapped up opening the AC/DC tour in Australia and had to cancel a free show they were doing in their home country as fans got a little too excited. The band put bar tabs for thousands of dollars at local pubs as an apology to fans. Rock and roll!
June 16th-Midwife-The Sydney-Here is a good one. Madeline Elizabeth Johnston is Midwife. Midwife describes themselves as “heaven metal”, but in all reality it is slo‑core with dream pop and shoegaze elements. It can be stunning and sunny and droning and moody, but the Denver artist has a sound that will get inside you. Midwife will be at The Sydney on June 16th.
June 17th-The Motet-Waiting Room-Soul funk and jazz band The Motet are at Waiting Room Lounge on June 17th. The Colorado band has been going for well over two decades now and is a festival favorite. The band’s 2006 album Instrumental Dissent is a favorite of mine. They just released a new album in 2024 called Love Time, and it features their new vocalist, Sarah Clarke. Omaha’s Funk Trek opens up
June 18th-Jason Boland and The Stragglers at Bourbon Theater-Red dirt country mainstays Jason Boland and the Stragglers have been doing this thing since the 90’s. The band has charted six album on the Billboard Country charts and released a new live album in 2024, and then gave us an excellent brand new album called The Last Kings of Babylon in 2025. They will return to Bourbon Theater this month.
June 19th-Earl Sweatshirt at The Admiral- This is kind of a wild lineup for The Admiral. Rapper Earl Sweatshirt has been one of my top‑selling artists at the record store for over a decade now. The Admiral seems like a pretty intimate room for this artist. He is joined by experimental hip‑hop artist MIKE and Harrison from Surf Gang. Earl, MIKE and Surf Gang all had an album come out on April 3rd called Pompeii/Utility. I would not sleep on tickets to this show.
June 19th-Allison Krauss-Pinewood Bowl Theater-It has been over a decade since Allision Krauss took out Union Station on a tour, but last year they did just that and put out an album called Arcadia. They are going out again in 2026 on a massive run of dates that will bring the bluegrass legend to Pinewood Bowl Theater in Lincoln, Get there early to se Theo Lawrence, he is excellent.
June 20th-Ben Folds-Holland Performing Arts Center-Ben Fold returns to Omaha for a show at Holland Center on June 20th. He comes through town pretty frequently, but I haven’t seen him in a long time. The last time I saw him, I think, was at a Creighton show that was just him and his piano. The piano broke, and it made the show even more brilliant, as he can work an audience with just himself, his voice, and his songs. I was a big fan of his last album What Matters Most, so I think it about time to me to see him again.
June 20th-Grayson Jenkins-Zoo Bar-Country music singer-songwriter Grayson Jenkins is from Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, and if that sounds familiar then you are a John Prine fan. In 2025 he put out his Country Parables album and is out in support of that. He will be at The Zoo Bar with Jack Hotel this month.
June 21st-Tim Kasher-Reverb Lounge-Cursive and The Good Life front-man Tim Kasher will be doing a solo show at Reverb Lounge on June 21st. He has an album that just came out called Tim Kasher’s Home Phone – Sponges of Experience on May 22nd. He says it is weird. Sounds like it.
June 21st-Evan Bartels-Bucks Bar and Grill-Evan Bartels will be at Buck’s Bar and Grill on June 21st. Big things have been happening for him for a while, but he is on the cusp of something really big and people can feel it. Bartels is a country singer-songwriter originally from Tobias, Nebraska, and resides in Nashville. He has been playing in Europe and opening shows for Charley Wesley Godwin and Hank Williams Jr. His new EP To Make You Cry came out in 2025 and it’s very good. Check it out. His last show at Buck’s was a sell out, so get tickets in advance.
June 25th through 27th-Country Drive Music Fest-Ashland-I am not sure what happened with this festival that has been happening out in Ashland, but they jumped up a couple of levels with their lineup this year. They have three massive headliners announced for the June fest Bailey Zimmerman, Hudson Westbrook and Koe Wetzel. Other acts include Aaron Watson, Bayker Blankeship, Dasha and more!
June 28th-NITE-Barnato-You can compare the band to Depeche Mode, as they sure do. I am rightfully a target market for the darkwave duo and I get a lot of their ad’s on social media that compare them to the legendary band. They do have a classic dark 80’s sound on their self tilted 2025 album. Give them a listen.
June 28th-Charley Crockett-Steelhouse Omaha-Charley Crockett, who I think is the most real deal country artist out there currently, returns to Omaha at Steelhouse Omaha on June 28th. Charley will have released four albums since he was last here, including Age of the Ram, which I thought was the best of the Sagebush Trilogy. He also released Clovis for online for a little bit, but that has been pulled. Who knows what he is up to?
June 28th-Weird Al Yankovic-Baxter Arena-Weird Al is on his Bigger & Weirder Tour and is coming to Omaha for a show at Baxter Arena. Just hope he plays the Captain Underpants Theme Song. Al has played some iconic venues in Omaha over the years. He played at Rosenblatt Stadium in the 80’s, Peony Park in the 90’s, The Music Hall in 2000, and the Orpheum thirteen years later. This time he will be at Baxter Arena on June 28th. Opening is the always entertaining Puddles Pity Party.
June 30th-Sean Payl-The Ice Box-Jamaican rapper Sean Paul has been putting out albums for a quarter of a century now. The Grammy Award‑winning artist will be at the Ice Box in Lincoln on June 30th for a festival that will feature a lot of other artists performing dance hall, EDM, Latin, Pop, and more.
