Intimate-ish Show With Popular Front-Man, Cursive Night Two, A Sold Out Show, Pink, Hard Rock, Emo Rock And Quite A Bit More
Saturday and Sunday Live Music Lineup
New Jersey death core band Lorna Shore will take the stage at Steelhouse Omaha on Saturday night. Lorna Shore have been through a lot of lineup changes, but seem to have found the right mix for success with their 2022 album Pain Remains. The band will be joined by another popular death core band Whitechapel. Whitechapel just released a new song “
I didn’t realize that Indiana blues and folk pop band Houndmouth was so popular, but they have sold out the main room at Slowdown, and I think it has been that way for a minute. I know the band had gone through some lineup changes, and they are not touring on a current album or even single that I can find. They do have a handful of massive songs like “Sedona” and “Darlin’” that have become ingrained in the permanent playlists of many. As always, be careful if trying to get tickets on the secondary market.
Other happenings on Saturday include the second night of Cursive at Waiting Room Lounge. The show tonight will feature Criteria. Omaha hardcore band Stronghold is at Reverb Lounge, and the second night of the Broadway Massacre is happening at Maloney’s Live in Council Bluffs. Tonight they have Petty Beige, Even Coast, Switchblade Saturdays, Softlines, and Light Speed Highway. JACK will pop over to The Sydney to perform with Velvet Velvet, and RADO and Moonshroom are at the B. Bar.
Wilco front-man Jeff Tweedy will be at The Admiral Sunday evening. Looking at his recent setlists he is really mixing them up each night. He is doing a very healthy does of Wilco tunes, solo tunes and some other fun things each night. The mix of things he is doing and the way it looks like he is just throwing a list of songs together each night has me very curious about this performance. Should be very cool. Elizabeth Moen opens and she is wonderful.
Pink returns to Nebraska Sunday to play at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Last time she was here was at the stadium in Omaha and the heat was brutal. No worries here as you will get to see her sing her large string of hits, while flipping around the arena on a string. Should be a packed house tonight.
Guitarist and singer-songwriter Taylor Hollingsworth is at Pageturners on Sunday. Hollingsworth is a member of Conor Oberst’s Mystic Valley Band and has performed with many others and has put out a lot of material himself. If you own the Better Oblivion Community Center album from Oberst and Phoebe Bridgers, the song “Dominoes” on that album is a Hollingsworth tune.
Emo rock band The Funeral Portrait just released their new album Greetings From Suffocate City last month. The album features lots of guests like Spencer Charnas from Ice Nine Kills, Danny Worsnop, Bert McCracken from The Used, and Eva Under Fire. They will be playing in Lincoln on Sunday at 1867.
