Will you be subscriber 500?
In The Market for Blues has announced their lineup of artists and venues for their one day festival. The festival will feature twelve hours of music on twelve stages and thirty bands and artists. Some of the artists featured include blues revivalist Kat Riggins, whom some have called the spiritual daughter of Koko Taylor. Blues rocker Nick Schnebelen and his band, as well as our own Hector Anchodo, will also top the list of artists. The venues are Harney Street Tavern - Dubliner Pub - T. Henery's - Havana Garage - Mouth of the South - Jewell on Capitol - Beer Can Alley - Annie's Irish Pub - Gene Leahy Mall at The Riverfront - Krush Ultra Lounge - Moxy - Holland Center Music Club, and you will be able to walk around to all of these at your own pace on Saturday, August 3rd. You can check out the full list of artists HERE and grab tickets.
We are at 499 subscribers here on Omaha Buzz on Substack. I would love for you to be number 500! It is free to subscribe, but about 10 percent of you have been finding value in the site and doing a paid subscription, and I really appreciate that. It helps offset the time invovled, though I truly am putting this together because I love it. Thanks to everyone who has been following. Subscribe below.
We are going to combine Tuesday and Wednesday this week, as Thursday will need its own post. This evening at the Waiting Room is garage rock and singer-songwriter Ty Segall. You will be able to hear selections from his vast catalog and a lot from 2024’s Three Bells. Popular New York hip-hop duo City Morgue is at the Bourbon Theater today in Lincoln. Canadian folk duo Mama’s Broke is at the Benson Theater tonight, and Texas indie pop band Wild Party is at Reverb Lounge.
Wednesday is just going to be a little tilted. At Slowdown is the alt rock band Krooked Kings, and in Lincoln at Duffy’s is the psych rock band from Colorado, The Crooked Rugs. Gritty blues rocker Hannah Wicklund makes a stop in Omaha at Reverb Lounge, with area artist Madeline Reddel also on the lineup.
Here is the rest of the mid-week lineup. If you want to get started on planning the rest of your week-you can do so HERE
