Country artist Jeremy McComb is taking the Honky Tonk Circus on tour. According to his website, the tour features a '90s super hits setlist with over $130,000 in stage production, transporting fans back to a time when songs “just seemed to matter more.” So, I guess this won’t fit at Buck’s, where he usually plays. This show will happen at The Waiting Room tonight.
There’s a name I haven’t heard in a while: Scott Keeton will be at the B. Bar tonight and The Zoo Bar on Sunday. I’m not sure if he has been coming through regularly, but Scott Keeton used to be a very familiar face in our area. The blues guitarist and vocalist fits right into the groove of what many local blues fans enjoy. If he hasn’t been around in a while, I would expect great turnouts for the shows.
John Kevill will bring his California thrash metal band Warbringer to The Bourbon Theatre this evening. The band just released their album Wrath and Ruin a couple of weeks ago, and you can catch them on their co-headlining tour with Allegaeon. Skeletal Remains, Molten, and Summoning the Lich are also on the lineup.
Other happenings tonight include funk band Satchel Grande at Slowdown and Juke Butter at The Jewell on Capitol. You could easily catch both shows. Greg Wheeler and the Poly Mall Cops will bring some raw garage rock to The Sydney tonight, and there is a new venue opening in Council Bluffs. The B-Side is now up and running where Maloney’s once was, and it looks like they really changed the place around. You can catch Two Ol’ Fisheads there tonight.
