Fourteen New Concerts Announced This Week for Omaha and Lincoln
With links to actual ticket sites
One of my all-time favorite artists, Gary Numan, returns to Omaha to play his biggest venue here in his three visits over the past decade.
Numan is still releasing incredible music—some of the best of his career—and, of course, he has one of the strongest catalogs in new wave, industrial, and dance music.
He’s currently on tour opening for The Psychedelic Furs, but Omaha is one of the lucky cities to get a Numan solo show.
Tickets for the October 2nd go on sale HERE on Friday
Alice In Chains guitarist and frontman Jerry Cantrell is coming to The Astro Theater on September 13th.
The "riff lord" is on tour in support of his album I Want Blood, which was released last year.
Opening the show is Filter.
Tickets go on sale this Friday HERE.
Jon Batiste does it all—soul, jazz, pop, world music, film scores—and we’ve been playing his latest album, Beethoven Blues (Batiste Piano Series, Vol. 1), in the record store a lot.
He’ll be making what I believe is his first Omaha appearance at The Astro Amphitheater on September 28th.
Tickets for the five-time Grammy winner and former bandleader of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert are on sale now HERE.
This whole thing is confusing me—I just went down a rabbit hole.
So, TWRP used to be called Tupperware Remix Party. They no longer are—probably got a cease and desist. They dress in costume and put out over-the-top synth rock music, the kind you might find in late-night commercials from the 80s. They have quite a few albums out and have been around for a long time, but this is my first time hearing of them.
Opening the show is Los Angeles Power Disco, which I always thought was a weird genre of music. I guess it maybe is—but maybe this band named themselves after it? It also shortens to LAPD (get it?).
They play rocked-up original disco songs that sound like covers of other songs—but aren’t. "Into The Night" sounds like Animotion meets Bonnie Tyler.
Anyway, it’s a lot of silly fun.
Tickets for the show at Waiting Room on September 23rd are on sale HERE on Friday.
Brooke Alexx has a big mouth—and she named her debut album after it.
The singer-songwriter pop star has a cache of songs that don’t take themselves too seriously. She hit big with the infectious “All My Exes’ Moms”, and she’ll bring that and more to Reverb Lounge on September 9th.
Tickets go on sale HERE this Friday.
Nilüfer Yanya returns to Omaha to play The Waiting Room on September 19th.
The British singer-songwriter is definitely a favorite of mine, and she’s heading out on tour in support of her latest album, My Method Actor. She’ll be touring with Alex G during this time, and the Omaha stop is an off-date and a headlining show for her.
Tickets are on sale HERE.
Canadian pop artist MICO brings his string of EP’s including the successful Internet Hometown Hero EP to Reverb Lounge on October 7th. Get tickets HERE on Friday.
Austin, Texas metalcore band Catch Your Breath is headed to Omaha to play The Waiting Room on July 26th.
The band had a Top Ten Hot Hard Rock hit with “Dial Tone” and released a deluxe version of their 2023 album, Shame On Me, in 2024.
Tickets go on sale HERE on Friday
I wasn’t familiar with Mikaela Davis even though she has four albums out. She’s described as a harpist who blends indie rock and alt-country and has released music on both Rounder and Kill Rock Stars labels.
Sounds like my kind of thing—and after listening, I can confirm it is.
Tickets for the June 29th show go on sale this Friday HERE.
Iowa stoner doom rock duo Telepathic Yeti are heading to Lincoln on June 21st for a show at Witches’ Brew. Tickets are on sale HERE
Violent Vira is coming to Waiting Room. I couldn’t find a lot about Violent Vira, but I did listen and its dramatic hard rock. They will be in Benson on August 14th and tickets go on sale HERE
Indie EDM duo Cherub finally has a new album coming out on September 5th. It’s been a while. The band will show up in Lincoln a week later for a show at Bourbon Theater and you can get tickets HERE
Take a look at him now! Face Value is coming to Bourbon Theater to do a tribute to the one and only Phil Collins. Tickets on sale HERE for the August 22nd show.
Carbon Leaf brings their alt-country, Celtic, and folk-infused indie rock to Barnato on October 12th. Tickets on sale HERE
