Singer-songwriter Ray Lamontagne will take his very popular 20 year old album Trouble out on the road. He has done a lot of great work since then, but this album is the one people still gravitate to. I saw the original tour for this album. Damn. Tickets for the August 29th show at Holland Center go on sale NEXT Friday HERE
The Wailers, featuring founding member Aston “Familyman” Barrett’s son Aston Barrett Jr., will bring the music of that legendary band and Bob Marley to The Slowdown on May 18th. They will be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Natural Mystic. You can get tickets HERE on Friday.
They are back and they are now 50 years young! Air Supply is all out of love, but not all out of music. They will present all of their hits at The Orpheum on July 19th. You can join Graham and Russell and get tickets HERE on Friday.
I haven’t thought about Joe Buck Yourself in quite some time, but here we are. I can remember many a night with him in town with Legendary Shack Shakers and Hank Williams III back in the day. I have to think he is still as rowdy and as rambunctious as ever. The Sydney is the perfect spot for him. Tickets are on sale HERE.
Masked UK metal band Sleep Token has blown TF up. Vessel and II will bring the rest of the band to Pinnacle Bank Arena on September 30th. The bands new album Even In Arcadia is out on May 9th. Tickets go on sale NEXT Friday HERE
I am excited about this. I haven’t seen Toad The Wet Sprocket in a long time, as they are usually opening up or co-headlining with bands that are not really in my wheelhouse. I am a big fan, though, and I will definitely hit up this headlining show at Astro Amphitheater on August 1st. Semisonic opening up is a very nice bonus, and Sixpence None The Richer rounds out the 90s lineup. Tickets on sale HERE on Friday.
More UK metal is coming, and this time it is Christian metal core band Confessions of a Traitor. They will be joined by Bloodlines at Reverb Lounge on July 2nd. Tickets on sale HERE
Psych rock band Brian Jonestown Massacre return to Omaha for a show at Slowdown on September 23rd. The band formed 35 years ago in San Francisco, and to say they have had a storied career would be an understatement. The band's 20th album came out in 2023, and they released an excellent new song, “Don’t Look At Me,” this past November. Tickets are on sale Friday HERE
Hard core punk band terror come back to Omaha to play at The Waiting Room on May 4th. I always avoided people in Terror shirts, they always seemed to look like they would mess you up if you looked at them wrong. Even though this band is over twenty years old, I have to assume those pits are still pretty insane. Tickets on sale HERE
It’s odd, Tonino Baliardo and Nicholas Reyes are original members of the Gypsy Kings and both are listed on all official sites and social media as current members of the Gypsy Kings, but they both tour separately. Omaha will get the Tonino Baliardo version, and he was an original guitar player in the band that was formed out of two families. The Gypsy Kings were massive in the late 80s and well into the 90s and are a favorite of many. Tickets on sale Friday HERE for the June 17th show at Holland Center.
Christian singer-songwriter Luke Bower will be at Slowdown on April 9th with Common Noble. Tickets on sale HERE
Oklahoma country artist Josh Meloy has been building fans in our area for quite some time. He was just here last week opening a sold out show at The Astro with Muscadine Bloodline and will be following that up with a show at Barnato on June 13th. This show will sell out. Get tickets HERE
Blues artist Tinsley Ellis just keeps on bringing it. He has been putting out albums since the early 80’s and just has not slowed down since. During COVID he wrote 200 songs and he has put out a few albums since then! He will bring his show to The Zoo Bar on April 21st. Tickets on sale HERE
Not sure what you need to know about Wynonna Judd that you do not already know. The daughter half of the Judd’s will be brining her greatest hits to Stir Cove on July 11th, and she sure has some. Tickets on sale Friday HERE
Chicago singer-songwriter Che Arthur will be at The Sydney on April 19th. Kind of an underground figure from a couple decades back. Interesting. Tickets on sale HERE
