Duran Duran Day Has Arrived and Your Friday Night Live Music Lineup
So, it is Duran Duran Day in Omaha. If you know me, you know I have been very vocally asking WTF Duran Duran hasn’t been booked in Omaha since the 80’s. I understand why we don’t get The Cure and Depeche Mode, but it’s not like Duran Duran hasn’t been playing at casinos, wineries, and some bigger state fairs. We are not a market for some bands, and most of the time it is the bands and management passing over our area and not the promoters. Duran Duran always just made sense, and here we are—and we finally get Duran Duran.
The band just headlined the massive Cruel World Festival in California and, in my opinion, put out their best front-to-back album ever in 2021 with Futurepast. I would love to just hear that album front-to-back live, but luckily for the rest of you, they will probably only do one or two songs off of that, and then it is all hits. The band is very relevant still, and we are going to see them in a pretty unique situation at Steelhouse Omaha, which is pretty intimate for that band. The show sold out in minutes, but I have been seeing re-sale tickets pop up for pretty reasonable prices for this particular show and have even seen people in my friend groups offer them up at face value. Things happen, and people cannot attend. If you spend a bit of time today, I bet you can find a ticket. I hope to see you at the show!
Other things happening this evening are country legends Alabama at Stir Cove. I have heard that the show is also close to selling out. New York rock band X Ambassadors are at Slowdown tonight, and Texas country rocker Joey Green, who had a run on The Voice, will be at Bucks Bar and Grill in Venice.
In Lincoln, you have Wyrmwood with Hot Dealers at The Zoo Bar and Midwest Dead at Bodegas Alley.
